Interactive Map Tools for Yard Planning

SaaS, Web, Supply Chain, Logistics, B2B

Yard management software helps companies track and organize the movement of vehicles and cargo in their yards (the outdoor areas around warehouses). A mapping tool adds a visual layer, allowing users to easily view the yard's layout, track the location of vehicles and cargo, and make real-time decisions about where and when to move things.

As the lead product designer for this project, I was responsible for transforming complex, real-time yard data into an intuitive, user-friendly visual map that offered users both macro and micro-level insights into yard activity. I conducted in-depth research, gathered customer feedback, and iterated on design concepts to create a dynamic, easy-to-navigate map. My focus was streamlining workflows by enabling users to interact with complex data through a clean, minimal interface. By incorporating data overlays, zoom tools, and custom views, I delivered a solution that empowered users to prioritize tasks efficiently, correct discrepancies quickly, and navigate complex workflows with ease. This project showcases my ability to balance user needs, business goals, and technical feasibility to craft meaningful product experiences.
